Learning languages in North America

Canada, the United States and Mexico share long borders, busy workplaces and three of the languages we teach. The reasons people learn differ a lot from one city to the next, so each page below focuses on local goals rather than a generic pitch.

Canada

Canada has two official languages, English and French, and many learners have a concrete deadline: an immigration application, a job in a bilingual workplace, or a move between provinces.

United States

In the United States, common goals include Spanish for work and community, French for travel, family or study abroad, and English when they are building a career after moving to the country.

Mexico

In Mexico, English is the main language people study for work, with French a growing choice for study abroad and for those considering Canada.
